Periodontal Maintenance

It is recommended that most people without a history of gum disease have their teeth cleaned up to twice per year. If you have a history of gum disease, you should have your teeth cleaned three to four times per year, depending on the amount of pocketing and inflammation, as well as the level of home care and other influences such as smoking and or diabetes. Frequent professional cleanings combined with adequate home care have shown to be beneficial for maintaining teeth long term.
