| AT YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT- Your general dentist has determined that you should be seen by one of our doctors and has referred you to the office that is most convenient for you. Our first concern is to treat any acute problem, make you comfortable and then evaluate your total dental health. Every procedure or option we feel is necessary will be fully explained to you prior to any treatment. All fees are discussed in advance and we try to determine if you have health insurance coverage for any of our treatments.
DENTAL RADIOGRAPHS- In most cases it will be necessary to view current radiographs (X-rays) in order to make the proper diagnosis. We will always check with your general dentist to see if such radiographs have been taken and have them sent to us. If none exist, we will take all necessary radiographs. We routinely use double films and are able to send a duplicate set to your dentist to minimize the need for duplicating these procedures. EMERGENCIES- Because of the nature of our practice, we often have to see patients with emergencies. All of our doctors and offices are aware of this need and every effort is made to see every emergency as soon as possible. After office hours, our doctors have a "beeper" service and our home phone numbers are made available to our patients. OUR STAFF- We take great pride in our staff, many of whom have been with us for over 20 years. Each of the staff at Periodontic Associates is experienced, knowledgeable and has your care as our main concern. Our hygienists are allowed all the time necessary for your care. At each appointment your periodontal health is monitored, evaluated and treated as necessary. Your periodontist will see you at the recall visit and reports of your condition and progress are sent to your general dentist. Each of our staff aims to make your appointment friendly, informative and comfortable. We will try to answer any of your questions pertaining to your periodontal health, treatment, prognosis, fees and insurance coverage. Every effort is made to be as punctual as possible and we strive to see you at the appointed time. |
